Hello There, Makeup

Getting new makeup is one of my favorite things. Opening a new tube of mascara, swiping on a different color of lipstick, or buying a cool color of eye shadow just brings a thrill all its own.

That’s why I’m just over-the-moon about a set of brushes, eye shadow palette, & nice eyeliner I just got...

Shany Makeup Brushes

These brushes? A cute case, 12 nice brushes & positive reviews…they must be too good to be true, right? But I’ve been in dire need of some new brushes for a while, so I just decided to go for it.

You guys, I am so glad I did. This set came with brushes for powder, blush, contouring, & lipstick. There are four different sizes of eye shadow brushes, & regular & angled eyeliner brushes. Then, a smudging sponge & a lash/brow comb, all wrapped up in a nice little case.

Unless you’re a professional…or makeaholic, I don’t think you’ll need more than that, right? Plus, these brushes are super soft & do exactly what they say they’ll do—the eye shadow brushes are the perfect sizes & I love how the eyeliner brush applies my new creamy liner!

E.L.F. Neutral Eye Shadow Palette
Here’s my usual eye shadow routine: buy a little palette with three or four colors I like, wear them until it runs out/I get so bored with them I can’t stand it & get a new one. Ugh. Obviously, the best option for me is to buy a huge palette with loads of colors.

I spent a lot of time looking for the perfect one, & that’s when I found this lovely palette! It has 144 (YAY) colors for $15 (DOUBLE YAY). There is a great variety of neutral colors—pinks, golds, browns, blacks, whites—all in different light, medium, & dark shades. Most of the colors even have both a shimmery & matte version.

Wet ‘n’ Wild Mega Eyes Cream Liner

Like I said, I love my new brushes, so much so, I want to try out every single one. That’s why I wanted to try out every single one, & the other day, my liquid eyeliner ran out. So perfect timing to buy some cream eyeliner & use the eyeliner brush, right?

I googled “best drug store cream liner” & was pretty surprised by the brand most recommended. Wet ‘n’ Wild Mega Eyes Cream Liner. What? Sure, I used this brand when I was younger…it was inexpensive & fun & they had fun colors, but I was expecting Covergirl or Revlon or a more “grown up” brand. But, alas, I tried it out.

And surprise. It works great. Nice & smooth & didn’t smudge. When I went to wash my face at bed, it still looked as good as it did when I put it on. I didn’t use the brush it came with though, because 1) I had my own, & 2) it was a little stiff. But it was no big problem.

So, if you are in the market for makeup, I totally recommend looking into this stuff!
