Hello Lovelies!
Today, I really don’t feel like putting on anything fancier than yoga pants. It's rainy & cold outside, & there are a few movies onDemand I've been dying to watch. I have a good book to read (The Hobbit) & a fun knitting project I just started.
Yes. It’s about to be the perfect Lazy Day. And what’s a Lazy Day without a quick, fun DIY?
That’s why I thought I’d share this really cool,
easy way to personalize candles.
First of all, get yourself this stuff.
- Plain, old pillar candles.
- Two ply napkins (Yes, the TWO ply is important). I found some really fun ones in the party supply section. Oh! Keep in mind that any white won’t show up on the candle…it’ll just be clear.
- Heated styling tool, like a curling iron. If you use your own, you can clean it up when you’re done, but it’s a bit of a hassle. I was able to find one at Goodwill for cheap cheap cheap.
- Scissors
*First
thing’s first: plug in your heating tool!*
Now, take your napkin, & split the two plies apart. Trust
me: it’s surprisingly easy/much less frustrating than you’d think.
Then cut out some shapes.
OK, folks, here's the scariest part, mainly
because I'm a baby when it comes to getting burned. Take one of your shapes, place
it on the candle. Make sure it's completely flat with no folds or air under it! Use your curling iron & rub your shape on
the candle. The wax will melt & the shape will stick!
There will be some little white spots, but
just rub your styling tool over them & they’ll smooth out.
See? You can totally tailor these candles for
whomever you want! I ended up giving this one to my best friend as part of her
birthday gift and plan on making lots and lots of them. Tee-hee : )
If you try this out, let me know how it
goes...& how many times you burn yourself (just once for me!)

How cute!!! Love DIYs :)
